My client are recruiting a highly skilled Automation Engineer to support technical activities on digital manufacturing and automation projects. Applicants with Siemens, Rockwell, and AVEVA (Wonderware) experience and a background in GAMP 5 will have an added advantage.
This role is offered as a full-time staff position, based out of our Chesterfield office, with an excellent Salary and Benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
* Participating in digital manufacturing/automation projects, including leading design, test, and integration activities.
* Working with a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers delivering projects to customer sites.
* Liaising with customers to gather and translate project and process improvement requirements into functional design and detailed design documentation.
* Developing engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans for cGMP process equipment and following GAMP 5 guidelines.
* Providing design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
* Working closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through the use of automation and data analytics technology.
* Providing technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments.
* Co-ordinating and supporting project commissioning activities.
* Mentoring and training of junior engineers.
* Researching new technologies and trends in Industrial Automation and liaising with senior management on digital manufacturing/automation business strategy.
Experience & Skills
Required
* Experienced automation engineer with 7+ years’ project life cycle experience.
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/ Instrumentation/ Information Systems or related field.
* PLC Programming Experience: Allen-Bradley PLCs / Siemens TIA Portal.
* HMI / SCADA Experience: Siemens / Rockwell/ AVEVA / Schneider.
* Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).
Desired
* Experience working with validated Automation systems in the Food and Beverage or Pharma manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring would be desirable.
