This role will be to undertake a number of varied and interesting challenges with children and their families. Supporting vulnerable children with travel, providing support to children affected by disability to access community resources. The role will also work with children and young people a variety of short-term pieces of work as set out within the child or young person’s plan.

The essential and desirable qualities you should have for the role are:

Essential Qualities

1. CQSW, BA (Hons) SWS, DipSW or equivalent
2. SSSC Registration
3. Pre or post post qualifying experience of practicing in a Children & Families setting
4. Working knowledge of the Children (Scotland) Act, Children Hearing (Scotland) Act, SSSC Codes of Conduct, GIRFEC practice model and Child Protection
5. Job holder will be expected to travel efficiency and effectively between various work locations within Argyll & Bute and beyond to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
6. Hold a clean current driving license
7. Ability to participate in Social Work Out of Hours Service on a rota basis.

Desirable Qualities:

8. Post qualifying award in Child Protection
9. Practice Teacher award
10. Experience of chairing meetings and managing conflict
