Position: SHEQ Manager
Location: Elland - Halifax with travel between sites: Nottingham, Gloucester, Glasgow and Ireland
Salary: Up to £55,000
Hours: M-F 8.30am-5.00pm (38.75hrs)
Benefits: Pension: 6% employer, 5% employee, 28 days holiday, death in service 3 x annual salary, Travel (UK & Europe)
SHEQ Manager opportunity
Fantastic career opportunity to join a specialist vehicle manufacturer who have been Established for over 150 years and currently operate in 3 countries as the SHEQ Manager.
The main purpose of the role will be to develop and execute health and safety professional leadership to all employees, supporting and advising all management teams, employees, visitors and contractors.
To lead and manage the Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) function across all Operations. The role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards, while promoting a proactive culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
SHEQ Manager duties
To improve performance through the implementation and development of health and safety management systems, including ISO 45001, and other current standards and legislation.
Evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence required standards and legislation.
Preparing and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and safety awareness through the group.
To oversee consistency of delivery of health and safety and identify and pursue significant issues.
Work with HR to develop an appropriate supporting workplace wellbeing programme.
SHEQ Manager Skills / Experience required
Strong knowledge of UK SHEQ legislation and ISO management systems, particularly 14001, 9001, 45001 and work within a Company or Organisation that is Compliant in these areas.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant SHEQ management software
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
Proven experience in a SHEQ leadership role ideally within engineering, manufacturing, or automotive sectors.
Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
Hold a full UK driving licence
Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001/14001/45001) - Desirable
Environmental or Quality-specific certifications - Desirable
Experienced with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies – Desirable
