The Role
Blueberry Systems is looking for a Business Development Associate (BDA) for the NHS, Medical Device, and Pharma sectors—a crucial role in acquiring new business opportunities. The position requires a proactive approach to prospecting, relationship-building, and presenting tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of potential clients. As a BDA, you will have the opportunity to lead customer engagements, understand their requirements, and adopt a consultative approach to help them reach their technology goals.
The role requires operational and process experience within healthcare, the NHS, or life sciences organizations. Blueberry will provide deep and thorough training on technologies and business development processes.
The focus will be on building new relationships and becoming a trusted source of technological innovation, as well as identifying gaps that could lead to new projects. This role is responsible for maintaining existing customers, promoting client satisfaction, and actively pursuing new business opportunities. This is a proactive role within Blueberry Systems, requiring a high level of initiative and ownership to drive activities and engagements.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development:
* Identify and prospect new business opportunities.
* Conduct market research to understand industry trends and customer needs.
* Develop and implement effective sales strategies to acquire new clients.
Customer Engagement:
* Conduct solution presentations and articulate the value proposition.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless transition from prospecting to onboarding.
Sales Cycle Management:
* Manage the end-to-end sales process, from lead qualification to deal closure.
* Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations.
* Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure new business partnerships.
Revenue Growth:
* Meet and exceed sales targets by consistently driving new business opportunities.
* Work collaboratively with existing teams to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the client base.
Qualifications
Must Have:
* Operational experience in the NHS, an NHS supplier, a consulting business, Medical Devices, or Pharmaceuticals.
* Commercial experience dealing with customers, service levels, and problem management.
* Understanding of business processes and the functions of a software development business within the NHS.
* Ability to work independently and remotely, with a proactive approach.
* A strong desire to succeed.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong commercial acumen.
* A valid UK driving licence.

* Experience with sales targets and quota management.
* Experience using a CRM.
* Project management experience.
* Higher educational qualifications, including degrees or diplomas.

Working Hours: This is a full-time hybrid role at Blueberry Systems Ltd. This role includes on-site work in Gloucester, remote (home-based) work, and the expectation of frequent travel to customer locations. Work patterns are based around standard working weeks (7.5 hours per day, plus lunch, between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm) with room for flexibility as required.
