Rate of Pay: £24.00 - £31.70 per hour
Summary:
Cardiff Councils Childrens Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead one of its established Childrens Homes. The post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a strengths-based and trauma-informed service that puts children and young people at the heart of everything.
As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, regulatory compliance, and care quality of a residential children's home providing placements of up to 12 weeks. Your aim will be to ensure children receive the right support while identifying suitable long-term placements or support pathways.
Responsibilities:
* Provide effective leadership, accountability, and direction to all staff within the residential home.
* Ensure that the home complies with the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and achieves full regulatory compliance.
* Supervise, develop, and support team members through regular performance reviews, training, and mentoring.
* Lead recruitment and retention efforts to ensure staffing levels and skills meet operational demands.
* Oversee care planning to ensure services meet the individual needs of children and young people.
Qualifications:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care Services (Children and Young Peoples Residential Management Wales & NI).
Requirements:
* Registered with Social Care Wales .
* Significant experience in a residential child care setting at management level.
* Proven leadership and people management experience.
* In-depth knowledge of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 .
* Full valid UK driving licence and sole use of a vehicle.
* Ability to participate in on-call rota and work flexibly, including outside office hours.
