_*Power Autos Ltd in Tewkesbury is looking for a full-time, self-motivated MOT Tester/ technician with a positive can-do attitude to work in our busy workshop Monday - Friday, 08:30-17:30.*_
Power Autos opened in 2019 with the sole mission of becoming a one-stop shop for motorists in Tewkesbury and the surrounding areas.
The workshop has five ramps, an MOT lane and a 4WD rolling road, there is also a body shop on the side of the building so we really can cater to all types of work. Our customer base is broad, We work on all types of cars, vans and some bespoke vehicles so an excellent general knowledge of vehicles is essential.
We’re a member of the RAC-approved network alongside having our own recovery truck, so there's always something to work on.
The perfect candidate will be able to work as part of a team but also on their own, using initiative, experience and knowledge to ensure that all work carried out is up to standard and the customer feels confident for the road ahead.
You must be fully qualified and have _at least 3 years of referenceable work_ experience. You will be competent in carrying out servicing, brakes, suspension and general maintenance completely unsupervised, there is scope to further your skillset here at Power Autos with training and support provided.
You must have a *full UK* driver's license which will be subject to a license check before starting work.
An MOT testing license is advantageous but not essential.
Whilst we have a wide selection of equipment for the team to use, you will be expected to bring *your own tools and toolbox* to the workshop.
This is a salaried position from £30k - £40k pa - negotiable depending on experience and knowledge

Skills & Requirements:
* Clear and effective communication between customers, other staff and suppliers
* Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
* Ability to weld and fabricate - or the willingness to learn
* Strong attention to detail to ensure quality workmanship
* Familiarity with using and understanding diagnostics equipment
* Experience and confidence in using hand and power tools effectively
* Proficient in vehicle maintenance and repair techniques, to understand which parts and tools will be required and to analyse the quality of parts
* Be able to analyse vehicles carefully to understand the condition, the accuracy of the diagnosis and what work has been agreed to and to swiftly clarify anything unclear
* Must be physically fit and mobile to undertake services and repairs easily
* Qualified to diagnose and complete vehicle repairs and servicing, following internal procedures and safety legislation
* To work positively with other mechanics and help when required
* To be able to write clearly and legibly with accuracy when recording repairs identified, parts needed and the labour involved
