Mental Health Crisis and Recovery Worker

Tezlom are recruiting a motivated, warm, and compassionate individual for the role of Mental Health Crisis and Recovery Worker to provide person-centred support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
This role is based within a welcoming drop-in crisis centre. While the service primarily operates as a drop-in provision, some individuals are offered scheduled appointments.
The service provides a safe, inviting, and inclusive environment for people who are struggling to cope with their mental health and daily life. The aim is to support individuals in reducing immediate anxiety and crisis, helping them stabilise and identify positive next steps.
What You Will Provide
As a Mental Health Crisis Worker, you will use your skills and knowledge to deliver:

A safe, welcoming space and a compassionate listening ear
*
1-to-1 support, offering advice and guidance to help individuals identify the best path forward
*
Support in developing individual safety plans for the following day and longer-term recovery plans, which may involve statutory services
*
Assistance to find and access local services and community resources
*
A warm, supportive environment including offering a hot drink and snack
*
Support to the wider team in delivering effective drop-in crisis services
You will also participate in facilitating group activities such as:

Tea & Chat
*
Arts & Crafts
*
Mindfulness Meditation
Working Hours
The centre operates during the following hours:
*
Mon-Fri-4:30pm – 10:30pm,
*
Sat-Sun-3pm – 10pm
Key Responsibilities
*
Provide practical and emotional support to service users who may be in, or at risk of, mental health crisis
*
Support individuals to build independence, resilience, and confidence
*
Work in a recovery-focused way in line with support and risk management plans
*
Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a consistent, coordinated service that maximises outcomes
About You
*
Proficiency in IT (using databases, Microsoft…)
*
Background in Psychology and/or Mental Health services (working experience for helplines, currently completing a degree in a MH related field)
*
Experience working with individuals with mental health needs (essential)
*
Warm, empathetic, and person-centred approach
*
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*

Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
*
Possibly local or with easy access or willing to travel the distance
