ALTEN is supporting a series of major transformation projects within the aeronautics sector. These initiatives focus on improving processes, data practices, digital tools, and operational workflows. The work involves close collaboration across several countries, requiring strong coordination between teams based in the UK, Europe, and North America.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to act as the local representative in Belfast, ensuring that project activities are well‑organised, aligned, and progressing effectively.
* Location: Belfast
* On Site: Full onsite presence
* Clearance: Not required
* Experience Level: Mid - Senior
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the on‑site representative for the wider programme team, ensuring local alignment and supporting day‑to‑day decisions.
* Coordinate activities between the Belfast teams and international counterparts, maintaining clear communication and consistent progress.
* Analyse and document current processes, user groups, and local tools, including any unofficial systems in use.
* Organise and lead workshops, capturing discussions, decisions, and follow‑up actions in a structured and reliable way.
* Apply established project management methods and standards to support planning, risk tracking, and overall project structure.
* Prepare and consolidate progress updates for international teams, ensuring information is accurate, timely, and easy to understand.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
* Strong experience in project management, including planning, structuring, and risk tracking
* Ability to analyse processes, data flows, and IT tools
* Comfortable working in structured environments with clear methodologies
* Knowledge of configuration management (advantageous but not essential)
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working in an international or multi‑site project environment
* Understanding of process improvement or transformation programmes
* Ability to work with technical teams (IT, engineering, data)
* Comfortable analysing operational workflows and identifying improvement opportunities
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple streams of work
* Experience preparing structured documentation, reports, or project deliverables
* Ability to adapt quickly in changing environments and manage shifting priorities
