ABOUT THE ROLE
1. Actively interpret technical drawings, program, set up and operate CNC machinery accordingly
2. Supervise machines and team during operation, making real-time adjustments for enhanced results
3. Report and document any discrepancies in operations, including maintenance faults
4. Generate a detailed shift handover
5. Oversee process changes within the team and department
6. Attend meetings for production / contract updates as required
7. Write CNC milling programs for all machines as required (Fanuc, Edgecam / Cadcam)
8. Set up and develop new and existing products on machine centres
9. Assist and advise in the design and jigs and fixtures
10. Maintain and control a current program register and tool inventory
11. Create SOPs, setup sheets and other documents to aid in production
12. General supervision of Machine Shop;
13. Support, coach, mentor, train and develop team. Highlight training gaps
14. Ensure team are working efficiently, effectively and are on target to deliver
15. Ensure production schedules are met and set clear objectives
16. Drive improvements in efficiencies
ABOUT YOU
17. Recent and relevant Machine Shop Team Leading / Supervisory experience
18. Experience with precision measurement instruments
19. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
20. Strong math skills for measurements and calculations
21. Able to demonstrate excellent manufacturing practices
22. A flexible approach to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements
23. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
24. Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others
25. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas
