About the role
We are seeking a senior research fellow to contribute to a programme of work on device assessed physical activity and cardiovascular disease. We aim to use a variety of cohorts, that have utilised both research and consumer grade wearables to examine the dose-response relationships between physical behaviours and incident CVD and mortality. We will use both established and novel statistical approaches to understand the independent, joint, and cumulative associations of physical behaviours with CVD risk.
The right candidate is expected to have worked extensively on large population cohort data sets and possess strong statistical skills. Experience in physical activity measurement, particularly wearables, is desirable. Ability to work within multidisciplinary, international teams will constitute an advantage.

About you
The post holder must have a higher academic degree PhD, or evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications
A track record of internationally excellent scholarly publication in the field of physical activity / epidemiology / data science.
The successful candidate must have expertise in one or more of the following fields, including: Physical activity measurement, public health, epidemiology, data science
Experience of using large scale population cohort data with administrative linkages.
Expertise in specific statistical techniques such as: Compositional.
A track record of grant income from research councils, charities, industry, etc would be advantageous.
