This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to join Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in care, ensuring that care planning is robust, timely, and focused on achieving positive outcomes. What you will do Chair statutory reviews for Looked After Children, ensuring compliance with the IRO Handbook and statutory guidance. Monitor the quality and progress of care planning and service delivery, advocating for children's needs and rights. Ensure care plans are outcome-focused, timely, and effectively implemented. Act as an independent advocate for children, challenging drift and escalating concerns when plans are not progressing appropriately. Place the child's voice, wishes, and feelings at the heart of all reviews and decision-making. Maintain clear, accurate, and high-quality records and reports. Contribute to quality assurance activity and continuous improvement across Children's Services. Work collaboratively with social workers, carers, and partner agencies to ensure high standards of care.
