In this role, you will lead the coordination and reporting of our engineering and product management teams within your assigned area of responsibility, driving to improve project outcomes while meeting our customer and Armstrong reporting requirements. You'll strive to exceed customer expectations and foster satisfaction through a variety of responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
* The EC shall be responsible for working primarily with the engineering, projects and production teams to measure financial and production outcomes of existing and future projects including targeted margin, OTIF, change orders, non conformances and action plans related to performance improvements along with other necessary reporting. The role manages the global reporting for the Engineering group.
* The EC shall use the company LN financial system in accordance with company guidelines to track opportunities through the entirety of the bid to commission process to accurately report on the necessary business metrics. Deviations in expected outcomes will be reported and actioned on a project-by-project basis.
* The EC will be required to manage regular team meetings between the key functions of engineering, procurement, production, project management and others, as required, to measure project results. Measurement is designed to allow for improvements in outcomes during the build stage and learnings applied after the commissioning of systems.
* The EC is required to track and forecast revenue recognition and customer project invoicing as required by the contracted project. Margin evaluation at all stages of customer invoicing is required with intervention where necessary to recover margin drift.
* Weekly, Monthly and Annual reporting is required utilizing a variety of MS office applications. As a minimum it will include:
* Gap analysis for all project phases
* Revenue recovery and Invoice Actuals
* ECO and NCR reporting
* OTIF for plant room projects
* Project close out reviews and actions
* JIRA project plan oversight
* Stage gate review and oversight
Key Tasks
* To prepare weekly production updates on a project-by-project basis for the Manchester, Droitwich and Potter facilities.
* To liaise with members of other Company departments as and when required in order to resolve gaps in project deliverables.
* Prepare all weekly project tracking updates and lead project review meetings.
* Plan available time in accordance with the principles of good time management.
* Evolve journey plans that are activity focussed and cost effective.
* Travel to regional plant locations in the greater UK area with occasional travel outside of the UK.
* Attend Sales, Production, SIOP and other project meetings or briefings as directed.
* Provide, as required, feedback during the project review process and close outs with actionable improvements tracked and reported monthly.
* Assist in improving the use and development of the internal quoting and project programs to maximize the team’s time and energy.
* To support the development and implementation of new technologies and software necessary to drive productivity and margin in the projects.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications/skills/knowledge/attributes
* Education BA in mechanical design engineering or a related specialty in engineering.
* Experience in project oversight in a design to build environment.
* Junior level working knowledge of industrial manufacturing process.
* Microsoft Excel

* LN financial software or equivalent (Desirable)
* The ability to acquire, interpret and understand technical information
* The ability to input data/complete paperwork accurately and legibly.
