Rate of Pay : £22.70 - £28.78 per hour Summary: As part of the Councils wide-ranging transformation programme following re-organisation from April 2023, we are seeking qualified accountants to provide high-quality financial support to service managers across various directorates. The successful candidates will play a key role in budget setting, in-year budget monitoring, financial forecasting, and year-end financial accounts, while contributing to broader strategic and transformational financial planning. Responsibilities: Support transformational change projects, providing financial insight and modelling to aid effective decision-making. Prepare financial statements, statutory returns, and ad-hoc financial reports as required. Support the development of business cases and financial models to evaluate commercial ventures or service redesigns. Ensure financial management practices align with council policy, professional standards, and regulatory frameworks. Use a range of financial systems and ensure integrity of data, accuracy of reporting, and adherence to internal control frameworks. Qualifications: Full or part-qualified accountant (e.g. CCAB/CIMA or equivalent). Experience: Proven experience working in a financial management role within a local authority or public sector organisation. Experience in analysing complex financial data and providing advice to service managers. Demonstrated ability to support and influence decision-making in a professional and constructive manner.
