Event Manager
The Grand Ballroom is the jewel in our crown, and alongside our collection of meeting rooms, it offers a dynamic and exciting place to work. As Events Manager, you will bring your personality and flair to provide warm, friendly, and generous service to our guests. The guest journey is paramount, so you'll know how to deliver fantastic experiences for our guests, time and again.
What you will do
1. Motivate the team by leading from the front with confidence; being dynamic and positive at all times
2. Assist in the planning, organising, and control of day-to-day operation of the department, thereby ensuring the established standards of performance are maintained and total guest satisfaction is achieved.
3. Work alongside the Head Chef to ensure quality of food and drinks
4. Be knowledgeable on the menus, answer questions, and make recommendations
5. Ensure the meeting and event rooms are set up as per function details and instructions received from the Conference Office
6. Meet with organisers at the end of their event to solicit opinions and feedback on our service and standards
7. Make sure the team is well-trained, friendly, and offers great engagement and efficient service for guests
Minimum Requirements
* Previous experience as an Event Manager in a hotel
* Strong leadership skills, demonstrated in a similar role within a conference and events setting
* Warm and genuine nature, able to make people feel at ease
* Confident, clear, and polite communication with guests
* Ability to promote a positive attitude and 'make things happen' to achieve or exceed results
* Highly customer-service oriented
* Flexibility to work shift patterns through weekdays and weekends
