Job summary
The Primary Care team is looking to recruit an Administrative Officer to join its central business support team, providing administrative support to the Out of Hours (OOH) service and, when required, to the wider Primary Care team. The role ensures clinicians, managers and operational staff receive accurate information, timely coordination, and reliable administrative processes to enable safe and efficient patient care. Working during daytime, the administrator will support urgent primary care services outside normal hours.
Main duties of the job
The role requires a flexible and proactive approach. Key responsibilities include: managing confidential patient information, maintaining rotas and databases, supporting workforce coordination, ensuring accurate documentation of clinical activity, overseeing routine and ad-hoc meetings, taking minutes and action notes, handling enquiries via email, telephone and face‑to‑face contact, processing primary care contractor claims and invoices, managing stock ordering, accurate data entry and maintenance of spreadsheets and clinical systems, supporting report production and training events, general office duties such as filing, photocopying and record management. Flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to high standards of service delivery are essential.
