We are currently recruiting a dedicated, resilient and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN secondary school supporting students with complex Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
All candidates must be willing to undergo full safeguarding checks, including an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, and provide suitable professional references.
About the role
This is a hands-on role working with secondary-aged students with very complex needs, and it will involve regular personal care. This may include support with toileting, feeding, mobility, and personal hygiene.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to help students access education, develop communication and life skills, and feel safe, supported and understood within the school environment. Your patience, empathy and commitment will be essential in helping pupils engage with learning and everyday routines.

This is a specialist secondary provision for students aged 11–19 with severe, profound and complex learning needs. Many pupils have additional medical, sensory, physical and communication needs alongside their diagnosis of ASC, SLD or PMLD.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Learning Support Assistant – Specialist SEN Secondary School you will:
* •Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASC, SLD or PMLD (school, care, or support work experience accepted).
* •Be fully willing and comfortable to carry out personal care — this is an essential part of the role.
* •Be confident supporting secondary-aged students with very complex needs and behaviours.
* •Be patient, compassionate, resilient and emotionally robust.
* •Be able to follow care plans, behaviour strategies and therapeutic guidance.
* •Be committed to supporting students’ learning, emotional wellbeing, physical needs and personal development.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
* 2 years experience working with complex needs
* Willing to provide personal care
