Position:
ADHD Specialist Teaching Assistant
Location:
Northampton and/or South Northants (Brackley, Towcester, and Daventry)
Introduction:
Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs, specifically those with ADHD? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to make a positive impact in a secondary school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support to pupils with ADHD, both individually and in small groups.
* Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
* Support teachers in delivering tailored lessons and activities.
* Create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
* Monitor and report on pupils' progress.
* Collaborate with staff to ensure optimal outcomes for pupils.
* Encourage independence and confidence among pupils.
* Support pupils during school activities and outings.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people, preferably in education.
* Understanding of ADHD and effective support strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
* Ability to work well within a team.
* Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEN (desirable).
* Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
