Working Pattern: Shift-based (07:00 – 15:30 and 09:30 – 18:00)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Highways Inspector to join Westminster City Council on a short-term secondment. This role is critical in ensuring our statutory duties are met by carrying out routine inspections and responding promptly to reported issues across the borough.

Key Responsibilities
Complete routine inspections of highways, footways, street furniture, and other highway assets at required intervals.
Identify and report defects or issues, ensuring timely resolution.
Attend sites to assess reported faults on council-managed and privately-owned assets.
Provide expert advice and guidance on highways and street works to colleagues, supporting risk identification and decision-making.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role with the ability to hit the ground running.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Confirm software.
Attributes: Proactive, independent decision-maker who requires minimal training.
