You will share the insurer’s passion for delivering exceptional client service and its commitment to using ingenuity and technical expertise to underwrite business in unique ways.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide Property expertise across various business areas (Care, Charities, Equine, Life Science, etc.), advising on Property-related risks and wordings, managing governance, and overseeing underwriting practices.
* Support the ‘Heads of’ other business areas on Property-related issues.
* Manage the Property portfolio to support development, growth, and profitability.
* Assist Underwriting Managers in achieving profitable growth within their business lines, including UK Retail and International operations.
* Respond to top-tier referral business from Underwriters, delegated coverholders, and claims departments.
* Contribute to building skills, product knowledge, and capability within the underwriting team.
* Support continuous improvement of underwriting guides and tools.
* Review and analyze new portfolio, scheme, or facility opportunities.
* Promote broker development and underwriting sales community awareness.
* Support sales teams in strategic broker discussions, market tenders, and client meetings.
Candidate Profile
We welcome applications from current similar roles or ambitious Senior Property Underwriters seeking career advancement. Essential qualifications include extensive experience in commercial Property underwriting, strong technical product knowledge, awareness of market dynamics, and understanding of insurance regulations. Excellent stakeholder management, communication skills, and the ability to secure buy-in are crucial.
