Happy Days Nursery in Exeter is seeking a Lunch Cover Assistant to join their friendly and welcoming team.
Responsibilities
* Work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday (all year round) over the busy lunch time period; role is ideal for those seeking school hours.
* Provide a safe, supportive and enriching environment that fosters children’s development and well-being, particularly over the busy lunchtime period, in line with our curriculum “Where Children Shine”.
* Support the staff team with lunch times, sleep times and learning activities; ensure daily routines are consistent through a confident, positive and honest approach.
* Support children during their mealtime, following all policies and procedures to keep children safe, and manage allergies and special dietary requirements; understand safeguarding for children and families.
Who we’re looking for
* Previous experience in a nursery or early years school environment is preferred.
* A relevant early years/childcare qualification (2 or above) is advantageous but not essential.
* Ability to prioritise work, work well within a team, and embody SHINE values (Support, Honesty, Inspiration, Nurturing and Empowerment).
* Excellent initiative and a proactive “can do” attitude to support daily routines and meaningful learning activities.
* Experience with policies and procedures, with the ability to implement them after a robust induction; understanding allergy management and safeguarding.
* Ability to support children to become independent learners by planning and supporting team delivery of meaningful activities; adaptable and empathetic to the team and daily variety.
