* Degree/HND/HNC in Construction / Engineering or appropriate professional qualification.
* Appropriate construction industry experience – c.2 years.
* Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of planning and construction activities.
* Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Experience in the use of TILOS software.
* Experience of managing QSRA.
* Experience in Project Management.
* Experience in Risk Management.
* Ability to resource and cost load programmes and produce outputs to clearly demonstrate this information to others.

Your contribution to our company
The Assistant Planner will support the Planning team in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of project programmes across major civil engineering works. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams, and site staff, the role contributes to effective project delivery by ensuring accurate planning, progress reporting, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career planner or engineer looking to develop planning expertise within a large-scale infrastructure environment.
Requirements:
* Assist the Project Planner as directed.
* Assist the Project Planner with evaluation of project documents in order to build detailed programmes specifying time and resource requirements from first principles.
* Assist the Project Planner to code programme activities.
* Liaise with members of the team during the project process as required and assist with co‑ordination of their input into planning matters.
* Development of high-level programmes into construction programmes. Production of programmes throughout the duration of projects.
* Co‑ordination of input into the programme from the construction team.
* Review construction progress with input from the construction team, update programmes and produce reports as necessary under the supervision of the Project Planner.
* Attend meetings as required.
* Attend site regularly to assist site teams with planning matters.
* Compliance with the STRA-PLAN procedures and guidelines.
* Provide productivity as‑built data accumulated from the works to allow feedback to the Business Development team and availability to the wider Planning team.
* Encourage sharing of information and best practice and communication between Business Units.
* Reporting of data and progress to the Planning Manager.
