Responsible to: Duty Manager
Leisure Attendants are team members primarily responsible for managing queues for rides and tyres, assisting lifeguards during emergencies, and maintaining cleanliness in changing rooms and toilets. Individuals should be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
Hours: Varying shift patterns, including evenings and weekends.
Primary Objectives: To assist lifeguard staff in maintaining a disciplined yet relaxed safe environment for guests and educate pool users on proper behaviour while using our facilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist customers and educate them on water safety and pool rules.
* Communicate effectively with pool users and colleagues.
* Monitor and prevent customers from wearing jewellery, spectacles, and goggles.
* Maintain cleanliness and safety in changing rooms and toilets.
* Identify issues and alert qualified staff.
Operational Responsibilities:
* Maintain discipline in queues and on ride start platforms through effective communication.
* Ensure queues are orderly and initiate ride operations as required.
* Ensure customers adopt correct riding positions and use traffic light systems properly.
* Dispatch customers one at a time and prevent linking or chaining rides.
Skills Required: Candidates should meet basic fitness criteria suitable for working in a swimming pool environment and be eligible for the lifeguard course, including swimming 50m in under 60 seconds, swimming 100m on front and back, treading water for 30 seconds, surface diving, and climbing out of the pool unaided.
Training and Assessment:
* Attend one staff training session per month.
* Be prepared to complete the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
