Mid-Level Power BI Developer
Location: Remote with occasional need on-site
Rate: £375/day Inside IR35
Duration: 3m rolling contract
About the Role
As a Power BI Developer, you'll take ownership of designing, building, and maintaining insightful dashboards and reports that give our stakeholders a clear view of the metrics that matter. You'll work closely with business users, data engineers, and analysts to ensure our data visualisation is accurate, accessible, and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications and reporting solutions.
* Optimise existing reports for performance, scalability, and user experience.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver insights that support strategic decisions.
* Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reporting outputs.
* Stay up to date with new Power BI features and industry best practices.
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong experience (2-4 years) with Microsoft Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
* Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational databases (SQL Server preferred).
* Ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling visualisations.
* Good communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience with performance tuning and data optimisation within Power BI.
Nice to Have
* Exposure to Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse).
* Experience in other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
* Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
