Job Description
In an administrative role at Kuehne+Nagel, tasks such as managing office operations or coordinating schedules contribute to your team's success and provide meaningful moments for people worldwide. Your attention to detail supports colleagues in performing at their best, ensuring the timely and seamless transport of hearing aids and advanced medical devices that change lives. At Kuehne+Nagel, our work contributes to more than we imagine.
As National Manager for NACORA UK & Ireland, you will lead the strategic, operational, and commercial development of our insurance brokerage business, focusing on marine cargo and commercial lines. This role involves ensuring FCA and regulatory compliance, overseeing financial, legal, and administrative functions, and managing relationships across the business. You’ll strengthen collaboration with Kuehne + Nagel UK as a key distribution partner and drive the expansion of freight liability insurance. Additionally, you will lead and develop a network of franchisees and producers, maximizing NACORA’s market presence across the region.
How you create impact
* Proactively grow commercial insurance lines—primarily Marine Cargo and Freight Liability—targeting UK importers, exporters, freight forwarders, and leveraging Kuehne + Nagel as a key distribution partner.
* Cultivate relationships with local and corporate insurance markets to support placement capability and drive product innovation.
* Develop niche cargo and liability products, tools, and materials; provide daily support to Kuehne + Nagel staff on marine insurance matters.
* Lead internal/external training and ensure operational compliance with FCA regulations and licensing across the UK, Ireland, and wholesale markets.
* Drive profitability by expanding multi-line offerings, growing NACORA’s sales team, and enhancing premium-to-brokerage conversion through strategic pricing and targeting.
* Oversee high-performing operations focused on efficiency, agility, and service excellence while maintaining licensing requirements.
* Integrate KN Sure cargo/liability products into Kuehne + Nagel’s sales processes, tenders, and client strategies.
* Manage KN Claims Centre operations in the UK with Anchor Risk Solutions (Hamburg), including recruitment and adherence to claims handling standards.
What we would like you to bring
* Proven experience in a management position with exposure to the UK Insurance Market.
* All required personal licenses and qualifications to be approved by the FCA as SFM3 of an insurance broker in the UK, and meet regulatory requirements to operate NACORA UK & Ireland.
* Working knowledge of main classes of commercial insurance and understanding of FCA regulations and compliance frameworks.
* Proven track record in insurance sales and business development with an insurer or broker, delivering additional brokerage income and a solid sales structure.
* Strong sales skills with entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to organize and prioritize workload.
* Effective communication skills tailored to the target audience, with the ability to respond quickly and influence others.
* Proactive approach, capable of negotiating insurance contracts and interpreting complex information swiftly.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and broker systems.
