To be successful in this role, you should have:
* A strong background in IBK/Markets, preferably BM and CCO, with experience in CCO roles.
* Technical skills to understand and navigate business processes and infrastructure from front to back.
* Understanding of governance and control frameworks, including design and remediation approaches.
* Excellent stakeholder interaction and communication skills.

Purpose of the role
To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the bank's internal control framework to support risk mitigation and protect operational, financial, and reputational interests.
Accountabilities
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the bank to improve control effectiveness through documentation of assessments, procedures, and findings.
* Identify and investigate potential weaknesses within internal controls to promote improvement and risk mitigation.
* Develop reports communicating key findings, control weaknesses, and recommendations.
* Conduct reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of the internal controls framework in line with policies, regulations, and best practices.
* Ensure adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and assess controls against it.
