Boeing Defence United Kingdom (BDUK), through its Aircraft Support Programme, provides design and sustainment support services to various rotary and fixed wing aircraft, including AH-64E, CH-47, C-17, P8-A, and E-7. Boeing employs over 2,000 people across the UK at multiple sites and is experiencing solid organic growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical/Propulsion Customer Support Engineer (Field Service Engineer) to join the BDUK Long Term Training and Support Service (LTTSS) Sustainment Engineering team. This role is based at Wattisham Flying Station, supporting the UK's fleet of AH-64E Apache helicopters.

Position Responsibilities:

* The Mechanical/Propulsion Customer Support Engineer will primarily be responsible for AH-64 Apache Weapons Systems, Propulsion interface System, Drivetrain System, Rotor System, Fuel Systems, Pneudraulics Systems, Environmental Control System, Flight Control System, Landing Gear System, and Airframe Structure.

* Lead and advise on maintenance execution in accordance with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) UK AH-64E ADS, Boeing standards, procedures, processes, and practices.

* Support customers by providing procedures, advice, and technical data for in-service maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnostics.

* Research technical, operational, and quality issues; lead analytical investigations to evaluate discrepancies reported by users and suppliers that cannot be resolved by the customer.

* Coordinate between Maintenance Organisations, the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation, Engineering Authority, Air Systems Coordinating Design Authority (MESA), suppliers, and BDUK functions as part of the LTTSS Sustainment Engineering team.

* Provide technical support for company products and troubleshoot multiple systems to resolve maintenance and operational issues.

* Ensure compliance with Regulatory Articles, Defence Standards, company policies, and procedures for developing maintenance data for aircraft modifications and repairs.

* If authorized, design interim and final engineering solutions, including analysis.

* Utilize technical publications and instructions to resolve customer queries (e.g., UK IETM, RPSTL, USG TMs, DAP 101C-3101, Wiring Illuminator, Service Modifications, Technical Instructions, Product Notifications).

* Apply mechanical system design knowledge to analyze, develop, and maintain technical data supporting safe aircraft operation.

* Support Cost Reduction Initiatives (CRI), Continuous Improvement (CI), and Employee Engagement activities.

* Perform additional tasks as directed to support team and organizational goals, such as best practice activities to maintain and improve standards.

Basic/Required Qualifications:

* HNC in Engineering or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

* Significant experience with AH-64 Apache (Mk1, D, or E) or rotary wing aircraft maintenance, including procedures, standards, and systems support.

* Extensive knowledge of UK MOD/Army aircraft maintenance processes, policies, and practices, especially related to AH-64 Apache.

* Knowledge of maintenance and airworthiness regulations, including MAM-P, MRP, and Defence Standards.

* Ability to analyze and interpret engineering data such as drawings, schematics, and part lists.

* Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.

* Ability to lead, delegate, and ensure task performance in a team environment.

* Understanding of financial metrics and variance analysis techniques.

* Experience with UK MOD Resolve and GOLDesp systems is advantageous.

* Engineering degree with CEng or IEng registration, or equivalent experience in helicopter maintenance.
