Position: Ensembl Dataflow Coordinator
Location: EMBL-EBI, Hinxton, United Kingdom
Role Overview:
Seeking a coordinator to oversee the integration of large eukaryotic genome datasets into Ensembl. Responsibilities include leading genome analysis pipelines, ensuring efficient data processing and release, and collaborating with international consortia in biodiversity and pangenomics. The role requires extensive knowledge of genome annotation and comparative genomics, and experience working with global research teams.
Qualifications:
* Experience managing teams and international collaborations
* Deep understanding of genome annotation, comparative genomics, and Ensembl infrastructure
* Experience with large genomics projects and API, schema, release management
* Technical skills in genomics and experimental data types (ONT, Iso-seq, Ribo-seq)
* Strong network of global collaborators and stakeholder engagement skills
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
Desirable Skills:
* Grant writing, budgeting, reporting experience
* Knowledge of pangenomics, AI data, cloud computing, event organization
Contract Details: 3-year grant-based contract
Salary: Starting at £4,716/month after tax, excluding pension and insurance, with benefits
