Logistics and Operations Manager
Location: New Milton
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm)
About the Role
Our client is a highly successful and well-established business based in New Milton, currently seeking an experienced Logistics and Operations Manager to lead and inspire a high-performing packing operation.
This is a broad, hands-on leadership role at the heart of the organisation. You will be responsible for driving operational excellence across multiple channels including multiples, wholesale, and eCommerce, ensuring exceptional standards of performance, quality, and efficiency. The role offers the opportunity to lead with innovation, champion continuous improvement, and implement smarter, more sustainable ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop Packing Technicians, Assistant Team Leaders, and Team Leaders to achieve short- and long-term objectives
* Create a positive, engaging work environment that promotes high performance and skills development
* Work closely with HR to develop and deliver people strategies aligned with business needs
* Support people processes including performance management, absence management, training, and engagement initiatives
* Oversee day-to-day operations across the packing department
* Set, monitor, and deliver performance targets on time, in full, within budget, and to strict quality standards
* Lead strategic improvement projects to maximise efficiency and reduce waste
* Implement Lean principles and champion best practice to maintain market leadership
* Oversee preventative maintenance of packing equipment and manage the renewal of non-serviceable machinery
* Maintain direct contact with customers where required
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards at all times
Skills and Experience Required
* Proven experience in a mid to senior operations management role (essential)
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop large teams
* Demonstrated passion and experience in continuous improvement and process development (Lean, Kaizen, etc.)
* Experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment (desirable)
* Strong financial and commercial awareness
* Excellent organisational, planning, and analytical skills
* Solid understanding of Health & Safety practices
