Cyber Security Architect
We are looking for a Cyber Security Architect to join our growing team at Thales UK. The role focuses on developing and maintaining secure, reliable and compliant security solutions across complex systems.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist security architecture, technical leadership and guidance to enable Thales to devise, develop and maintain reliable, secure, accreditable and economically sustainable security solutions.
* Advise on high‑level security compliant architecture and contribute to the design of preliminary and detailed solutions, including study of alternatives and risk assessment.
* Consult on potential security component architectures (e.g., SIEM, IAM, gateways, detection and deception capabilities).
* Evaluate architectures against Business Line policy and major cyber security standards & regulation frameworks (NIST, ISO, JSP, etc.).
* Produce justification for architectural choices.
* Ensure technical coordination across a multi‑discipline team.
* Present, recommend and demonstrate solutions to customer representatives, peers or technical teams.
* Produce engineering and architecture reports, specifications and design documents.
* Verify architectures and solutions against established requirements.
* Develop documentation to enable accreditation and certification of solutions.
* Develop and deliver security training for a specific user community.
* Interact with cyber suppliers/vendors for technical assessment of cyber products to select suitable solutions.
Qualifications
* Graduated in Engineering or Computer Science or hold relevant industry certifications (CISSP, Cisco, CCP, etc.).
* Experience advising on security solutions taking into account customer needs.
* Ability to secure solutions in collaboration with domain architects.
* Demonstrated value proposition on crucial and sensitive programmes.
* Background in Infrastructure Security Design, Security Supervision Design, and Information Systems Security (ISS).
* Familiar with Risk Analysis, Network Security, Cryptography, Identity & Access Management, and cloud technologies.
* Ability to monitor and measure risk as well as compliance.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills with customers and technical teams.
Nice to Have
* Domain knowledge in Defence, Nuclear, Government, Aerospace, CNI, Transport.
* Risk Management and Accreditation expertise.
Security Clearance
In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance.
