Technical Business Development Manager – Plant Biosolutions (Europe)

Join us as our new Technical Business Development Manager
Novonesis Plant Biosolutions is expanding its footprint across Europe, and we are looking for a Technical Business Development Manager to help drive sustainable growth in plant health biosolutions.


In this role, you will balance scientific depth with commercial execution, translating agronomic insight into impactful business development initiatives. You will work closely with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to unlock new growth opportunities, support innovation, and strengthen our technical leadership in the European market.

You will join the European Plant Biosolutions team at Novonesis – a diverse, cross-functional group of agronomy, technical, commercial, and innovation professionals working together to enable more sustainable agriculture.


The team plays a critical role in delivering technical excellence to customers while shaping regional growth strategies and supporting innovation pipelines. Collaboration is at the heart of how we work: we partner closely with global R&D, marketing, regulatory, and production teams, as well as with customers, external consultants, and research institutes.


We support one another through open knowledge sharing, a strong feedback culture, and a shared passion for scientific rigor and customer impact. Looking ahead, the team is focused on expanding plant health biosolutions, strengthening field trial excellence, and accelerating market development across Europe.

The role is field- and market-oriented and involves regular travel across the region (approximately 50%).


In this role you'll make an impact by:

As Technical Business Development Manager, you will act as a key link between science, customers, and commercial strategy. Your primary responsibility is to drive technical market development and business growth for plant biosolutions in Europe.


Your key responsibilities include:

* Developing and executing business development strategies to drive market penetration and regional growth
* Providing high-level technical and agronomic expertise to customers and partners, helping solve complex technical challenges
* Supporting sales by identifying, qualifying, and developing new applications, prospects, and growth opportunities
* Leading and facilitating regional field trials with internal teams, key accounts, and third-party organizations
* Translating agronomic strategies into actionable, measurable field trial and market development plans
* Feeding regional technical and market insights into global innovation, R&D, and marketing teams
* Representing Novonesis at industry events, conferences, and trade shows
* Ensuring scientific quality, regulatory awareness, and excellence in technical materials and reporting

To succeed you must hold:

You combine scientific curiosity with commercial mindset and thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional environment. You are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and enjoy turning data, insights, and field experience into compelling technical and business stories.

Required qualifications and experience:

* MSc with 8–10 years of relevant experience, or PhD with 5+ years of experience
* Strong background in agronomy, field research, agricultural sciences, agronomical engineering, crop science, soil biology, microbiology, plant pathology, environmental sciences and plant sciences.
* Hands-on experience with field research, agronomy trials, and experimental design
* Proven ability to balance scientific assessment with business development and commercial execution
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, enabling you to influence, negotiate, and build long-term relationships
* Willingness to travel approximately 50% across Europe
