To work for a prestigious legal organisation in Central London and ensure the smooth running of Library services and maintain and develop a programme of legal research training.
While face-to-face services are key to this role, the department takes a flexible approach and some hybrid working is possible
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Manage library services, facilities, usage and supervise a small well-established team. Design and present practical legal research training and expand the range of training offered and develop other staff as trainers.
Attend some meetings, deal with issues of policy, staffing, customer service, security, health and safety
Promote Library Services and co-ordinate all Library communications, including via the website and social media channels
Assist in the provision of professional research and enquiry services and staff the enquiry desk on a rota basis
Oversee the distribution of current awareness material by the department.
Contribute to events such as Introductory Evenings, presentations and Library tours.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Experience of working in a law firm (or very similar) and with a confident, proactive personality
Practical experience of designing and delivering legal research training.
Experience of managing or supervising staff
A university degree and a qualification in library or information studies.
A detailed knowledge of hardcopy and online legal information resources.
Confident public speaker, excellent written skills and the ability to converse with a range of people at all levels.
Excellent IT skills, preferably including Excel, PowerPoint, web-based technologies, library management systems.
