You will earn £24,796 a year working full time (37 hour a week), or equivalent pro rata.

Our East Hub Team is looking to employ a Corporate Trainee Hub Assistant based at Powerhouse Hub to contribute to our Service helping us to deliver and provide a face-to-face service to the citizens of Cardiff and a main focus on community wellbeing. The Hubs provide help and support with Universal Credit, Welfare Benefits, Council Tax, Housing, Bus passes for the elderly and disabled, Free School Meals, Education, Bulky waste orders, as well as a variety of other council services including library provision & Community Hub events.

About the job

In this Corporate Trainee role, you will learn to:

In this Corporate Trainee role, you will support our service and will learn to work as part of a team to deliver a first-class service. You will develop general office administration skills for example, using word and excel, answering telephones, using IT daily, helping customers with their enquiries and developing excellent customer service skills. You will assist in setting up and the running of community events and groups.

Our team will help and encourage you to develop in the role and you will be encouraged to take on a variety of duties. You will receive supervision and on the job training and will have a named mentor to support you to deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive, customer-focused manner.

This role will be located within the East district of Cardiff at Powerhouse Hub. Please note that Community Hubs are open from 9am – 6pm plus one late night a week – closing at 7pm and Saturday from 9am – 5:30pm. You will be required to work on a rota basis and this will include some evening and weekend work.

To support your development, you will be receiving on the job training and supervision to help you deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive and customer focussed manner. You will also be supported by your manager and a named mentor to who will encourage you to develop a range of transferrable skills to support your career progression.

This post is temporary for 6 months if worked full time, or longer if worked part time. Most roles are based on a 37-hour week though many roles can be worked on a part time basis.
