THE ECOMMERCE STUDIO

THE ROLE
The Photographer is responsible for producing photography assets for the New Look product pages, ensuring that all images are consistent, delivered to the highest standard and follow the agreed brand guidelines. The Photographer is a key role in supporting the Photography Manager in the daily running of the New Look Ecommerce Studio ensuring all shoots are running smoothly whilst producing imagery to the highest standard in line with the New Look brand voice. The Photographer is responsible for constantly reviewing the product imagery to ensure that the New Look product images are always the best in class. Working in a fast paced, high-pressured ecommerce studio, this role is to support the Photography Manager to ensure that all photographers including freelance photographers deliver high quality photography standards while maintaining daily deadlines and KPIs.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
* Shoot all products across fashion (kids, men’s, women’s) and still life in a timely manner and within the New Look creative art direction and following product matrix
* Review that day’s rail with the onset creative team - work with the Art Director to agree the “look / feel and direction” for the day
* Provide feedback to styling during the shoot to ensure product remains presentable (e.g., addressing issues like model movement)
* Work with the Senior Art Director and Styling Manager - direct the model on your set to deliver the agreed “look and feel / persona”
* Edit and select images through Capture One - ensuring the best selection of images are processed in a timely manner
* Work with the stylist and models to direct the shoot to show the product in the best possible way to maximise sales
* Set up lighting and backgrounds for a variety of shoots
* Work on multiple shoot briefs and apply suitable poses and lighting styles for upcoming trends
* Ensure daily shoot targets are met with high standard and a balanced studio atmosphere in fast-paced situations
* Perform quality control on images before sending to retouch
* Ensure images are high quality and consistent in colour and styling using Capture One
* Maintain crop size, colour profile and file size specifications
* Meet agreed targets and daily/weekly deadlines
* Manage the workflow of product images on shoot day; maintain digital photo assets and structure for easy archiving or access
* Prepare shoot setup and check daily that all equipment is functioning, testing appropriate lighting and flagging issues to the Photography Manager or Studio Manager as needed
* Responsible for maintenance of studio equipment and props
* Review competitor photography to ensure New Look remains best in class in each category
* Oversee new freelance photographers to ensure NL guidelines are followed
* Collaborate with hair/makeup and styling teams to maintain high standards; touch up as required
* Communicate challenges in delivering daily photography targets to management
* Share feedback with the studio team on new models or trends
* Work with freelancers to develop skills and continually improve workflow and imagery
* Produce industry-leading photography
* Work with styling on new ideas and processes
* Ad hoc projects as required including creative and brand shoots
WHO YOU ARE
* Expert knowledge of photography, retouching and lighting techniques
* High competence in Photoshop & Capture One
* General skills in graphic design preferred
* Confidence in training others on photographic techniques
* High competence using MAC operating systems
* Experience working within a large creative studio environment
* Strong understanding of current trends and lighting techniques
* Forward thinking, innovative & proactive in approach
* Excellent planning, workload management and organisational capabilities
* Strong interpersonal, problem solving and presentation skills
* Creative flair and knowledge, producing innovative ideas and solutions
* Strong communication and listening skills
* Commercially minded and aware of retail fashion/trends
* Comfortable with a highly pressurised and rapidly changing environment
* Experience in E-commerce and editorial photography essential
* At least 4 years relevant experience
