* Lead, inspire, and develop a team of Meetings & Events Co-ordinators to deliver outstanding, compliant meeting and event experiences aligned with AbbVie's strategic goals and in adherence with AbbVie policies and compliance standards
* As a player-manager the Meeting & Events Manager will be responsible for both the delivery of logistics and vendor management for internal conferences twice yearly as well as manage a team of Meetings & Events Co-Ordinators who support the compliant delivery of AbbVie-organised external meetings and events each year
* Oversee the logistical execution, and continuous improvement of all meeting and event activities, ensuring compliance, strong vendor & budget management, and both internal and external stakeholder satisfaction.
* Plan and manage the annual events calendar in conjunction with Brand Teams; ensuring that compliance guidelines are integrated into all planning and implementation phases and manage the focus of your team's time and resource accordingly
* Act as the central contact for AbbVie stakeholders, offering guidance and direction to ensure all events are delivered to AbbVie's standards and fulfil all compliance requirements.
* This role offers exposure to a diverse array of high-profile internal and external events, providing the opportunity deliver impactful experiences across the organisation, Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of Meetings & Events Co-Ordinators, providing support, training, and guidance to enable their personal and professional growth.
* Oversee the portfolio of AbbVie's educational events, scientific congresses (UK and international), and product meetings, ensuring events are successfully delivered within scope, timeline, and budget.
* Take responsibility for workload management, and setting clear objectives for each team member, ensuring smooth operations and resource utilization.
* Partner with the Internal Events and Corporate Communications team, supporting the coordination, communication, and delivery of internal business events, town halls, and employee engagement activities.
* Ensure compliance with AbbVie Policies, the ABPI Code, the Meetings Approval Process (MAP), contracting, and all vendor management procedures across the team's activities.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and best practice sharing within the team and with external vendors and venues.
* Serve as escalation point for complex or sensitive logistical and compliance matters.
* Overseeing the logistics when supporting HCP continuous medical education/support/support for attendance to scientific/educational congresses (registration, travel, accommodation), and ensuring adherence to AbbVie policies, ABPI Code and other and industry regulations.
* Lead supplier negotiations, reviewing service performance, delivering feedback, and driving quality improvement initiatives.
* Analyse outcomes of all events and implement process enhancements across the function.
* Report on team performance, event logistics and planning metrics, and compliance matters to senior management.
