We’re looking for an experienced Casualty Claims Adjuster to join our team on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover. In this role, you’ll investigate insurance claims, assess damages to people and property, and determine liability on behalf of our clients. You’ll work closely with third parties to evaluate claims and ensure fair settlements. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of claims handling and a proactive approach to resolving cases. You’ll play a key role in delivering excellent service to our clients while ensuring claims are managed efficiently and fairly. How you'll make an impact Handle employer and public liability claims for local authority clients, up to £50,000. Review and record claims on our system, checking policy coverage and setting reserves. Investigate claims by gathering evidence, making liability enquiries, and assessing damages. Explain liability decisions clearly and negotiate settlements within your authority. Respond to phone and written enquiries promptly and professionally. Regularly review claims to ensure accurate reserves and timely closure. Build strong relationships with clients by providing friendly and efficient service. Work with solicitors to manage cases effectively and ensure they’re not abandoned. Identify opportunities for recovery and pursue them early. About You You’ve got experience handling employer and public liability claims. You’re confident handling claims up to £25,000. You can investigate claims, establish facts, and build rapport with all parties involved. You’re confident in determining liability and creating resolution strategies. You understand the litigation process and can manage cases through it. You’re proactive in identifying settlement and recovery opportunities.
