Responsibilities
* Design and specify control systems, safety and electrical components for industrial automation systems.
* Create electrical schematics and designs within AutoCAD Electrical including layout diagrams, terminal and wiring plans to EU Standards.
* Develop technical specifications, process flow diagrams and control system programming architecture.
* Collaborate with Design and Applications engineers to provide drawings and specifications and deliver projects on time.
* Program PLC and controls for industrial automation systems.
* Coordinate suppliers as part of overall project control.
* Assist with electrical fitting, wiring of panels and assembly of machine builds.
* Conduct electrical testing procedures on new machine builds.
* Support electrical problem‑solving during the manufacturing build process.
* Integrate and commission new systems at customer sites within the UK and overseas.
* Maintain, develop and support existing control systems at customer sites within the UK and overseas.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
* Minimum 3+ years of industry experience.
* Minimum 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD Electrical or similar.
* Experience with electrical panel layout within electrical CAD software.
* Machinery safety training and/or experience.
* Understanding of electrical control gear, industrial automation and communication protocols (Profinet/Profibus, EtherNet/IP, TCP/IP, serial, OPC, IO‑link, etc.).
* Logical problem‑solving approach.
* Well organized, ability to meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
* Team‑work orientation.
Desirable
* Educated to degree level preferably in Electrical Engineering or related fields (2.1 or above).
* Knowledge of robotics.
* Clean and full UK driving licence.
