Overview
Mechanical Fitter (Heavy Plant Equipment) – £40,000 to £50,000.
Location: Swindon. Working weekdays only (Monday to Friday, 7:30 – 4:30) with optional overtime. Company vehicle, fuel card and standard company benefits provided.
Progression to senior positions is available within the company.
Responsibilities
- Repair, maintenance and fault diagnostics of heavy machinery, including excavators ranging from 20 to 90 tonnes.
- Conduct routine inspections and fit modifications or fabrications on plant equipment.
- Work in both workshop and on‑site environments depending on operational requirements.
Qualifications
- Significant experience servicing and repairing heavy plant equipment, particularly Caterpillar models.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems used on modern heavy machinery.
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Experience with excavators measuring between 20‑90 tonnes.
- Welding and soldering skills – refresher training can be provided.
