Job Description
3. Collection, validation, and preparation of procurement data
4. Supply market research, analysis, and benchmarking activities
5. Identification, engagement, and ongoing management of stakeholders
6. Participation in and support of stakeholder engagement sessions
7. Contribution to the development of tender specifications and requirements
8. Preparation and drafting of ITTs and RFQs using approved standard templates
9. Effective and efficient use of the WWU e-Procurement system throughout the tender process
10. Post-tender evaluation, analysis, and reporting
11. Support for and participation in supplier negotiations
12. Contribution to the preparation of contract award recommendations and documentation
13. Support for the implementation and onboarding of new suppliers and processes following contract award
The Successful Applicant
A successful Assistant Buyer should have:
14. Degree-qualified and/or MCIPS-qualified procurement professional with broad, relevant experience and proven practical application
15. Strong understanding of EU procurement regulations, contract processes, procedures, and recognised best practice
16. High level of commercial awareness with the ability to apply sound business judgement
17. Proven ability to build, manage, and maintain effective stakeholder and supplier relationships
18. Proactive, focused self-starter who takes ownership and accountability for delivering against performance objectives
19. Capable of working independently using own initiative, while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team
