Salary: £89–£110 per day (depending on experience)

We’re looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Gateshead specialist school that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other complex learning barriers.
In this role, every day counts - you’ll be part of a passionate team working with children who thrive on structure, understanding, and encouragement.
Your role will include:
* Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups with both learning and emotional needs
* Helping young people develop coping strategies, confidence, and trust in adults
* Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and multi-agency professionals
* Being a positive role model and a calm, consistent presence
We’re looking for:
* Experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviours
* A calm, resilient approach and the ability to build strong relationships
* Flexibility and a willingness to work creatively within a nurturing setting
* A proactive attitude — and a sense of humour never hurts!
