About the Role: The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. Working closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and SEN professionals, you will offer academic and emotional support to students in need of tailored interventions. Job Responsibilities: Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, either 1:1 or in small groups. Implement behaviour strategies to help manage emotional outbursts and challenging behaviour. Build meaningful and positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement and self-confidence. Assist with classroom routines and support the teaching and learning process. Monitor student progress and work collaboratively with staff and external professionals. Foster an inclusive, calm, and nurturing learning environment. Job Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural issues, or additional learning needs. Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, supportive demeanour. Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and/or de-escalation strategies is highly desirable. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach) are advantageous but not essential. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Join GSL Education Today!
