Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Playspaces Arbroath to be the room lead of our busy 2 - 3 room. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that promotes learning and play. This position requires strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and a genuine love for working with children.
This position is full time and permanent.
Responsibilities
* Work together to create and implement age-appropriate provocations and plans for the children in your care.
* Provide a warm, safe and welcoming atmosphere for children, ensuring their needs are listened to.
* Manage daily routines such as transitions, meals, sleeps, while encouraging positive interactions among children.
* Communicate effectively with families about children's progress, daily feedback and any concerns that may arise.
* Observe and assess children's development, documenting their achievements, milestones and progress.
* Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of all children and promotes teamwork with co-workers.
* Keep a high standard of cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting.
* Adhere to relevant national and local standards and be willing to under take relevant training for professional development.
* Lead a busy 2 - 3 room alongside your colleague, guiding and supporting them to provide a high quality environment for families.
Person specification
* A qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare is essential. HNC or equivalent and previous experience working with children in a nursery or educational setting is essential.
* Ideally someone who has experience as a room lead or senior position within a childcare setting but we would consider candidates who have sound experience as a qualified EYP.
* A strong understanding of child development and early years frameworks (such as Realising the Ambition).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues and build relationships.
* SSSC registration (or eligibility to register) and PVG scheme membership.
* A genuine passion for early years education and a commitment to fostering children's development.
* Ability to demonstrate creativity in planning engaging activities that stimulate learning.
* A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.
* Organisational skills and the ability to work as a team.
