Job Title: Support Manager

Salary: £28,598 to £31,022 per annum, term time only
Contract: Full time, permanent


About the Provision

Part of a forward thinking multi academy trust, this specialist setting supports children and young people who require a personalised and structured approach to education. Many of our learners have social, emotional and mental health needs, communication differences, or have experienced challenges in mainstream environments.

Our provision offers a calm, nurturing and aspirational setting where pupils can rebuild confidence, develop self regulation skills and re engage positively with learning. We work closely with families and external professionals to ensure each young person is supported to achieve meaningful outcomes and prepare for their next stage in education or training.

This role would suit an experienced teaching assistant, inclusion mentor or pastoral professional ready to step into a leadership position, or a teacher seeking a more focused pastoral and behaviour centred role.


Role Overview

As Support Manager, you will play a key role in the day to day leadership of the provision. Working alongside senior leaders, you will coordinate behaviour support, guide staff practice and help maintain a safe and purposeful learning environment.

This is a hands on role combining direct pupil support with team leadership. You will help ensure consistent approaches to behaviour, wellbeing and engagement, directly influencing pupils’ readiness to succeed within the setting and beyond.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead on behaviour, engagement and wellbeing across the provision.

* Support the planning and delivery of personalised behaviour and therapeutic strategies.

* Maintain consistent routines and high expectations.

* Liaise with families, external professionals and partner settings.

* Contribute to progress reviews and transition planning.

* Model positive behaviour support and effective de escalation strategies.

* Mentor and support staff to strengthen practice and confidence.


Person Specification

* Strong experience supporting children or young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

* Experience supervising or mentoring colleagues within an education or care setting.

* Clear and confident communication skills.
