Opportunity As part of the procurement team, will play a key part of the organisation helping bring to life the capabilities to meets the demands of a new tier one supplier for the Electrified application market. This includes establishing a new supply chain that can support the growing demand from prototype to series production for our markets including automotive. The procurement team are there to support the daily activities of the organisation for both production and nonproduction parts. While we mature as an organisation, an additional part of the role is having responsibility for organising inventory and supporting the smooth operation of our stores area. Responsibilities Work with the team to plan, develop and implement a supply base that is capable to support the life cycle phases of a tier one supplier of battery modules and packs to the automotive market., meeting the company targets of quality, cost, and performance. Establishing and growing the capabilities of the procurement activities including processes, systems, and supplier lists. Acting as the key contact point for the supply base. Work closely with internal and external design teams to ensure the supply base can meet the demands of the products and technology. This will include generation and monitoring of RFI and RFQs. Contribute to the procurement aspects to support new business studies for new programmes / customers, including estimates, cost, lead-times etc. Manage supply issues through to resolution, including management and/or supplier reporting and supplier performance. Creation of Purchase Orders supporting R&D, Production, indirect goods and follow up on orders and delivery dates on a regular basis including track and management of delivery of parts. Attend meetings at supplier’s sites as and when. Manage both incoming and dispatch materials. Assist with stock replenishment and inventory management. Ensure adherence to all company and customer standards, policies and processes. Skills and Experience Previous proven experience within a similar role, ideally within the automotive industry. Relevant business/commercial/manufacturing degree or NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification. Knowledge and experience of ISO9001 or TS16949. A Strong and confident negotiator that has a great business acumen. Good written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present to all levels of organisation and customers. GCSE or equivalent education passes in Maths and English. A strong IT skillset including Confluence and Windows based software with accurate and efficient data entry skills. Ability to work in a flexible and effective manner within a small team as well as under own initiative and able to manage a diverse workload while remaining calm. Strong interpersonal skills to enable good working relationships with supply chain and the organisation to resolve conflict or challenges. A highly organised and with good attention to detail that is adaptable and open to change with a positive “can-do” attitude. Valid UK driving licence or other suitable arrangements for business travel. Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required by the role.
