An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Assistive Communication Service, as part of Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language therapy Technician.
The Assistive Communication Service (ACS) has been identified by NHS England as one of the specialised Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) service for London. We deliver specialist AAC assessments, prescription, initial training and set up of equipment. We will encourage you to develop your potential in an environment that is well supported professionally and managerially, via a robust supervision system.
The maintenance of skills within the ever evolving field of AAC is particularly supported with an emphasis upon self-directed learning and training as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for the programming and updating of communication software on the communication devices. This will include the service and maintenance of the communication devices, as well as conducting software / equipment review clinics with clients. The post holder will also have to monitor stock levels of devices, accessories, and consumables, and order replacements as necessary

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE Maths and English - Must have A-C/4-9 or equivalent Functional Skills
* Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (NVQ Level 3, BTEC Level3, Diploma, or Apprenticeship Standard) or recognised equivalent courses
* Willingness to undertake further training as appropriate
* Knowledge of software accessibility adaptations
Experience
* Skilled in Microsoft Office and ability to design and generate reports from excel
* Knowledge and experience of IOS and ability to update, install applications
* Skills installing and uninstalling software
* Experience of managing accurate database of equipment/stock
* Recent experience of working in a health or social care environment
Skills
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships
* Knowledge and experience working in NHS
