We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible, and conscientious Maintenance Worker to join our service delivery team in Dorset.
The role covers the conurbation of East and West Dorset, including Poole, Bournemouth, Wimborne, Weymouth, Dorchester, Bridport, and Sherborne.
As a full-time Maintenance Worker, you will be part of a 50-strong team providing electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance across various NHS premises, including minor injury units, hospitals, community clinics, and offices.
Applicants must hold and maintain a full UK driving license. A trust vehicle (tracked 24/7 and for work use only) will be provided.
This position includes a Recruitment and Retention Premium, on-call allowance, enhanced overtime pay, flexible working options, and NHS pension scheme entry. Uniform, personal protective equipment, and basic hand tools are supplied.
This post is part of the Facilities & Estates Service, which may transfer to an NHS wholly owned subsidiary from November 2025 or later. This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing organization committed to NHS values and patient care. Training and mentoring will be provided, including some overnight training sessions.
Flexibility, teamwork, and adaptability are essential. Maintenance Workers may need to work overtime at short notice and handle incidents calmly and supportively.
You should have good communication skills, both written and verbal, strong IT skills, and be able to participate in an out-of-hours on-call service.
Your responsibilities include routine statutory and mandatory planned preventative and reactive maintenance across all Trust sites, supporting operational colleagues, liaising with contractors, and working safely in hazardous areas.
