About the Role Simply Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Royston. This is a temp-to-perm position, offering a fantastic opportunity to build a long-term career supporting children with additional needs. You will be supporting pupils with Autism (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), helping them access learning, develop independence, and feel safe and supported in their environment. Some pupils require personal care, so applicants must be comfortable assisting with these duties as part of the role. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties Assist teachers in delivering structured, personalised learning programmes Promote pupil engagement, communication, independence, and emotional regulation Support with personal care routines (e.g., toileting, changing) where required Contribute to a calm, positive and nurturing classroom environment Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff About You Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEN or Autism setting Comfortable supporting pupils with high needs and personal care requirements Patient, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure Strong communication and teamwork skills Passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare Why Work with Simply Education?
