Overview
As Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Group & BGIUK Functions, you will lead the technology strategy that supports People, Finance, and Corporate Functions across the UK and the Group. Your work will drive resilient, secure, and modern technology platforms that enable colleagues to do their best work every day, ultimately supporting better health outcomes. You will drive long‑term transformation, modernise legacy systems, strengthen resilience, improve financial controls, and embed product‑led ways of working. With responsibility for significant technology investment and a complex partner ecosystem, this role offers the scale, influence and challenge expected of an enterprise‑level CIO.
Responsibilities
* Define and deliver the long‑term technology strategy for People, Finance and wider corporate functions.
* Shape multi‑year roadmaps that simplify technology, automate processes and enable data‑driven decision making.
* Act as an executive partner to senior leaders, ensuring technology is a true enabler of transformation.
* Lead large, multi‑location technology teams, building inclusive, high‑performing cultures.
* Champion product‑centric, customer‑focused ways of working and continuous improvement.
* Oversee platforms supporting Finance, People, Legal, Risk, Procurement and Corporate Affairs.
* Ensure high levels of resilience, security, regulatory compliance and operational stability.
* Own key supplier relationships and optimise commercial value across a complex vendor landscape.
* Lead the rationalisation and standardisation of systems to reduce complexity and improve sustainability.
Qualifications
* Executive‑level technology leadership experience in large, complex, and ideally regulated organisations.
* A strong track record delivering transformation across Finance, People or corporate functions.
* Commercial confidence, including investment planning, supplier management and value optimisation.
* Experience leading distributed teams through change with clarity and care.
* A collaborative style, with the ability to influence at board and executive level.
* Experience working in agile or product‑based delivery environments.
* A clear understanding of resilience, operational risk and compliance expectations.
