Job Description:
Due to increased workload, we are looking for experienced Mechanical Design & Development Engineers to work across all phases of the Product Lifecycle, from Mechanical Future Concepts, Detailed Design, and Qualification/Testing to Production and In-service Support. You will lead the development of mechanical solutions for complex defence systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Salary: £45,000 - £58,000
Location: Worcestershire
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
* Lead design improvement and NPD projects, working with internal teams and external partners to solve complex problems and deliver compliant mechanical systems.
* Manage design evolution, DFMEA, and optimize engineering solutions within budget and schedule.
* Provide technical leadership and direction on projects.
* Develop prototypes and physical representations of designs.
* Support technical investigations and problem-solving.
* Facilitate reviews and sign-offs in accordance with standards.
* Contribute to manufacturability improvements through collaboration and guidance.
Experience
* Degree/MSc in Engineering, Science, or related field, with aerospace, defence, or similar experience.
* Understanding of engineering principles, problem-solving, and concurrent engineering.
* Experience in detailed mechanical design, analysis, tolerance studies, and technical documentation.
* Leadership and customer engagement skills.
* Clear communication of technical information.
* Knowledge of Systems Engineering and Project Management fundamentals.
* Business awareness and decision-making skills.
