General Practitioner (GP) - Enhanced Access

Clinical Duties: The GP will work with a multi‑disciplinary team to ensure appropriate care is delivered in the right place, at the right time. The post holder will be expected to:
* Maintain the highest clinical standards for all patients accessing the service.
* Assess, investigate, diagnose and treat patients presenting with clinical needs that can be met by primary care, ensuring appropriate coding to support the delivery of QOF, LCS, DES and CQUINs.
* Refer to secondary care where appropriate using the appropriate referral forms and mechanisms.
* Ensure appropriate investigations are requested and reported on when required.
* Provide emergency care while waiting for emergency transfer of patients when appropriate.
* Provide advice and support to colleagues and the multi‑disciplinary team.
* Communicate and collaborate with the GP team including nurses, paramedics and the operational manager.
* Support the development of the service by improving non‑elective care pathways, participating in audit, governance and teaching activities.
* Maintain high clinical standards, complete annual appraisals, personal development plans and mandatory training.
Additional responsibilities include contributing to service development, supporting non‑elective care pathways within the community, and participating in professional development activities such as training, audits and education to meet ongoing registration requirements.
