Job Description:
PE Global is recruiting a CNC Machinist for our oil and gas client based in Middleton, Manchester. The role is an initial 3-month contract and then permanent once the candidate suits the role.
Early & Afternoon: Mon to Thu 06.00-14.00/14.00-22.00, Fri 06.00-12.00/12.00-06.00
3rd shift = night shift: Mon to Thu 22.00-06.00, Fri 18.00-00.00
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for producing quality parts on CNC machines in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
* Perform set-up changes, operate and conduct first article inspections on production runs.
* Load parts utilising overhead lifting equipment, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, de-burring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
* Identify problems prior to production runs, then start and observe machine operation to detect any other malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
* Read engineering drawings, precision measuring instruments and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance and tooling requirements.
* Maintain knowledge of dimensions and tolerances for tooling instructions such as feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and cutting tools to be used.
* Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
* Perform any other work related tasks and duties in accordance with the business needs
* Comply with all Quality + HSE policies and procedures.
* Travel as and when required
* Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
Requirements:
* Time Served apprenticeship within a CNC machinist discipline, equivalent to either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3
* Operating a variety of CNC machines
* Familiar in working within a high productivity machine shop environment.
* Manual handling, slinging and lifting
* ONC/HNC in Mechanical and Production Engineering.
* 4+ years experience
* Manual Machining Experience
* Multi Axis CNC Machining Experience
* CNC programming knowledge on Mazatrol and Fanuc controls
